***Manley Board of Trustees meets the 2ND Thursday of the month in the Community Building at 7PM. DUE TO THE CASS CO FAIR, THE NEXT BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING HAS BEEN MOVED TO MON. AUGUST 14TH IS THE NEXT ONE. AS ALWAYS, THIS MEETING IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! Please keep in mind that just merely contacting a board member does not fix a problem. We invite you to the meetings to voice your input, whether you are a resident or not. IF you would like a discussion with you about something, please contact the Village Clerk, at least 24 hours before the meeting to ensure it is added to the agenda.
*Please contact our Zoning Administrator, Betty Meyer (who is also our Village Chairperson) about any building projects. You might need a building permit. Better to check with her than to start a project and find out you needed one.
*Need a place to hold your next meeting, shower or seminar? The Manley Community Building is for rent! For more info and to schedule an event, contact Jolene Dalton, Village Clerk at the office. Parking for events is on the WEST side of the street only! Signs for this and for the parking at the Catholic Church will be secured so we don’t block residents or emergency vehicles.
****You should’ve received a SENDD Survey in the mail recently. The Board has asked you to fill it out and send it in so that we may qualify for grant money to cover projects instead of using Village assets that we may or may not already have. SENDD has sent the Village a list of persons who they have not received the survey from. THIS IS IMPORTANT!!! We have to have 100% participation in this in order to qualify for grants! If your survey has not been received, you will receive a knock on your door from a Village Board Member asking you to fill it out, or in some cases fill it out again. They do have extra copies on hand. This will happen this week and next as they have to be completed and turned in the week after! We would hate to be able to qualify for a grant of several hundred thousand dollars and not be able to get it because one person didn’t turn in the survey. Please help out your neighbors and Village by filling this out and returning it to the Board Member that knocks on your door.****
Nuisance violations are currently being dealt with.
*If you put your trash/recycle cans out by the curb, you must take them back to your house/garage area each week. You cannot leave them by the curb.
*If you have a non-operational and/or non-licensed motor vehicle in your yard, driveway, parking or in an alley it must be moved prior to August 9th. Fines will begin to accrue on Aug 10th at $100 per occurrence.
*Please do not put furniture out on the roads. That’s what the Manley Clean Up days were for. If you missed that, you will have to wait till next year or contact someone to come and pick up your furniture for you.
*When walking your dogs, please clean up after them while on your walk. Therefore, each and every person walking a dog should be carrying a small bag to collect any waste to be thrown away in your own trash receptacle.
*Manley Residents and outlying Residents within the zoning area, if you are having a garage sale this summer and would like to announce it, please send an email to me! Free advertising!

Quest for ‘SPAMALOT’ at Lofte Community Theatre
(From Left) Chris Berger, Aaron Spracklin, Benjamin Pettiford, Matthew Parker, Lowgaen Schmidt, Wade Mumford and Matthew Hansen are King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table in the Lofte Community Theatre’s upcoming production, “SPAMALOT."
Manley, NE [July 10, 2017] - King Arthur and his knights are on a quest to find the Holy Grail and their search begins at the Lofte Community Theatre!
The Broadway smash, ‘Monty Python’s SPAMALOT’ opens on the Lofte stage Friday, July 21. The stage musical is lovingly ripped from the 1975 cult classic film, “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.” Winner of three Tony Awards, ‘SPAMALOT’ retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. But, in true Monty Python style, their adventure takes a silly spin. The production features beautiful show girls, cows, killer rabbits, plague-ridden peasants and rude Frenchmen. ’SPAMALOT’ originally ran on Broadway for three years and was seen by more than two million people. Popular songs from the show include, “The Song That Goes Like This,” and “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life.”
Directed by Kevin Colbert, the production features Chris Berger of Louisville as King Arthur and Catherine Bobst of Lincoln as Lady of the Lake. In 2016, they played leads Harold Hill and Marian Paroo in the Lofte’s production, “The Music Man.” Sir Lancelot is played by Wade Mumford of Lincoln. Aaron Spracklin of Elmwood shines as Sir Galahad. Brave Sir Robin is brought to life by Matthew Parker of Papillion and Lowgaen Schmidt of Louisville is the humble Sir Bedevere.
“These are some of the best voices in the area,” said Colbert. “We’ve got a great cast and that should translate into a great show this summer. Python is sort of check-your-brain-at-the-door humor, so folks can come and just laugh.” Colbert does mention that there is some mild adult humor and suggests a PG-13 rating.
Show dates for ‘SPAMALOT’ are July 21-23, 27-30 and August 4 and 5. Tickets are $19. Sunday, August 6 is already sold out so those interested in tickets should make their reservations soon. The Lofte is also offering a Medieval themed pre-show luncheon, complete with games and entertainment available for purchase on Sunday, July 23 and 30. Advance reservations are required for the meal. The Lofte box office can be reached at 402.234.2553, or tickets can be purchased online at Lofte.org.
