History of Manley

Manley owes its existence to the Missouri Pacific Railroad, which built its main line from Atchison, KS, to Omaha in 1881-82. This line traversed Cass County south-to-north coming through Avoca, Weeping Water, Manley, and on to Louisville.

Pillage the Village 2017

***Manley Board of Trustees meets the 2ND Thursday of the month in the Community Building at 7PM. THE NEXT ONE IS THUR., SEPTEMBER 14TH. AS ALWAYS, THIS MEETING IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! Please keep in mind that just merely contacting a board member does not fix a problem. We invite you to the meetings to voice your input, whether you are a resident or not. IF you would like a discussion with you about something, please contact the Village Clerk, at least 24 hours before the meeting to ensure it is added to the agenda, per Nebraska Law.

*Please contact our Zoning Administrator, Betty Meyer (who is also our Village Chairperson) about any building projects. You might need a building permit. Better to check with her than to start a project and find out you needed one.

*The Village Clerk is currently on vacation. If you need assistance contact Betty Meyer or Denise Swenson. If they are unavailable, contact Tim Glas or Adam Zierott.

*Thank you to all of our sponsors, vendors and volunteers for their generosity surrounding Pillage the Village. More to come in two weeks.

*Two positions will be up for vote in the elections next year. Tim Glas and Betty Meyer will be up for re-election.

In case you haven’t been to the new website, please take a few minutes to look around. We will be discussing this at the September board meeting and taking notes and ideas for changing this website. It looks nice, however, we know we need to make some changes and value your input.
