Watch For New Traffic Signs

You will see new signage around Manley in the coming weeks.  Worn out, faded and broken stop signs & posts will be replaced and speed limit signs added to help remind drivers to slow down.  Manley has very few sidewalks, and therefore often has pedestrians, children and bikers on the streets. Please drive responsibly.

ELECTION NOTICE

On the November 6, 2018 General Election Ballot, there will be two (2) open positions on the Manley Board of Trustees.

If you are interested in running for one of these seats on the Board, you must reside within Manley's Corporate Limits. And to be listed on the ballot, you had to file a Candidate Filing Form with the Cass County Election Commissioner by August 1, 2018.  But you can still campaign as a "Write-in".  If you have any questions, you may call the Commissioner’s Office at 402-296-9309 or the Village Office at 402-234-2304.

A planning commission is a review and recommendation body only.  It is not empowered to have independent authority over the implementation of the plans it is responsible for preparing or to implement or administer any regulation or program established to implement the comprehensive plan or other plans prepared by the commission.  These authorities are left up to the governing body (Village Board) of the jurisdiction which created the planning commission.

The planning commission has review authority over any actions of the Village Board which relate to the powers and duties of the commission.  The governing body (Village Board) which appoints a planning commission shall not hold any public hearing or take any action on matters relating to the comprehensive plan, capital improvements, building codes, sudivision development, annexation of territory, or zoning, including amendments thereof, until it has received the recommendation of the planning commission.

Members of this Commission serve without compensation for the time they commit to their service.
